Chris Perera

Chris Perera is an award-winning Executive Producer, Show Runner and Developer who has worked with a number of networks including A&E, History, ABC, Discovery, Science Channel, Velocity, Animal Planet, TLC, Discovery Health, HGTV, DIY, FYI, History, National Geographic and TV-One.  Credits include Show Runner for Nat Geo’s critically-acclaimed “American Weed”, TV-One’s “Celebrity Crime Files”, co-supervising Producer for ABC’s award-winning, “NY Med” as well as producing and directing work for a number of hit shows that include “Say Yes to the Dress”, “Tiny House Nation” and "While You Were Out."  Perera is also Co-Owner of 5 Speed Entertainment, a company that creates, develops and packages programming for television broadcast and digital distribution, including Dance it Out, Starring Billy Blanks Jr. for Lifetime and Platinum Eye for A&E's FYI channel.  Not only did Platinum Eye enjoy excellent ratings during its 2021 run, it is currently the 2nd most streamed show on the network.

 

Perera helped develop, package and sell series, specials and pilots that include “House Hunters International” for HGTV, “Man Caves” for DIY, “Doctors on the Edge” for A&E, “Ugly Agency” for TLC, “Dear Genevieve” for HGTV and “Matchmaker” for HGTV.
