Fia Perera

Fia Perera is an award winning writer, director and producer who has a wealth of experience on both sides of the camera.  As a stand-up comedian she has performed in numerous comedy clubs throughout the country as well as the top ones in New York City and Los Angelos including The Improv, Comedy Store, Caroline’s, Gotham, Ice House and Joe’s Pub. As an actress she has also appeared in many films alongside some of the biggest actors in the world, including Harrison Ford and Ashley Judd.  She's also written over fifteen plays produced off Broadway in venues such as The Labyrinth Theatre Company and Don’t Tell Mama’s. In Los Angelos her work was produced at the HBO Workspace, Hyperion Theatre, Comedy Central Stage and Hudson Theatre to sold out crowds and critical acclaim. She won both a Kids First and Telly award for her animated kids’ show, Seafun For Kids, and has written and produced several TV series including, Inappropriate Fairy Tales, Ghost Shrink as well as the award winning TV pilot Do The Voice. In January 2019, Fia produced and directed the hilarious comedy pilot Baby Steps. Fia has also written several feature films and TV projects that are in various stages of development. Currently she is focusing on producing her feature film, Mermaid: A nine year old boy struggling with his gender identity who crosses paths with a lovable Drag Queen.
