Chris Perera
Chris Perera is an award-winning producer and strategist with a passion for storytelling across television, film, and branded content. Known for combining high production values with narratives that connect, his work resonates with audiences ranging from policymakers and stakeholders to mainstream viewers.
His career spans independent film, documentary, and a broad spectrum of television genres. Chris has produced for the leading AI innovators, including Reflekta.ai, Warner Bros. Discovery, A&E Networks, BBC, ITV, The New York Times, History Channel, ABC, Animal Planet, TLC, HGTV, DIY, FYI, and National Geographic. His credits include American Weed (Nat Geo), House Hunters International (HGTV), NY Med (ABC), Say Yes to the Dress (TLC), Tiny House Nation (FYI), and Invitation (Warner Bros./Discovery), a luxury travel series filmed across the globe.
As the founder of Perera Pictures, Chris brings strategic polish and creative vision to every project, having filmed throughout the United States and internationally in Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the Caribbean. He is also the founder of Firm Forward Energy, a consultancy dedicated to advancing nuclear and clean energy solutions through sales, strategy, and communications.
Chris has a proven knack for assembling high-performing teams and delivering projects that are both creative and impactful. He earned his Executive MBA from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business in 2024 and lives in Connecticut with his two high-school-aged children and a golden retriever.

Fia Perera
Fia Perera, Chris's sister, is an award-winning writer and director whose films have screened at more than 70 prestigious festivals worldwide, including several Oscar-qualifying venues. Her work consistently champions the voices of the disenfranchised, addressing issues such as communities disproportionately impacted by climate change, animal welfare, LGBQT rights and people with physical disabilities.
Her upcoming feature, MERMAID, tells the story of a ten-year-old boy who dreams of becoming a mermaid and forms an unlikely bond with a grief-stricken drag queen. Starring Devyn McDowell, Arturo Luiz Soria, Nat Faxon, Alex Moffat, Mary Birdsong, Tom Kiesche, and Missi Pyle, the film explores themes of empathy, resilience, and compassion across generations. MERMAID is being prepared for top-tier festival submissions and has already been recognized with multiple awards for its outstanding sizzle reel.
Fia’s recent feature documentary, Paul & Trisha: The Art of Fluidity—now available on Apple and Amazon—has garnered acclaim for its exploration of identity and artistic expression. With a foundation as an actor and comedian, she has also written and performed in more than 15 Off-Broadway plays and created award-winning television pilots including Do the Voice, Baby Steps, and Bad Alice.
Beyond film and television, Fia has directed and produced media campaigns that have raised millions for organizations such as VETPAW, Penta Medical Recycling, Wildlife SOS, and Let the Animals Live. She also collaborates with brands and companies to develop dynamic sizzle reels and video portfolios that deliver measurable results.
